Will
You Attend the Rehearsal?
We try to attend the rehearsal, even if we are not
taping the rehearsal itself (an a la carte` option).
It is important for us to see the placement of the
wedding party and speakers, unity candle, kneeling
bench, etc. so we can determine the best positions
for the cameras. We also double check with the officient
to ensure that we are abiding by any guidelines
established by place of worship or venue.
What
do you do on the day of the Wedding?
Preparation
Upon our arrival we will begin shooting the action
taking place. Our arrival time is dictated by you,
so if you want shots of your hair and make-up being
done, be sure you let us know what time those activities
begin. We'll also get some "establishing shots"
-- these are shots of the venue, interior and exterior
which let the viewer know where everything is taking
place. If you are having photos taken prior to the
service, we will get some footage of that too. Just
prior to the ceremony, we'll put the mic on the
groom.
Ceremony
Prior to your walk down the aisle we'll capture
shots of your guests arriving, signing the guestbook,
the candle lighting, the musicians playing their
prelude music, etc. We then take our places to start
shooting the ceremony from the seating of the grandparents
and parents to the declaration of intent, vows,
and rings. We do our best to position the cameras
in places where we can get the best shots of your
faces without being the center of attention ourselves!
One of the best compliments we received from the
mother of the bride was this, "As the wedding
began I got scared that you hadn't come because
I didn't see you and your cameras right away!"
As you walk back down the aisle as a newlywed one
of us will be ready in the foyer to get those first
congratulations from your bridal party and parents.
We'll also get your receiving line and any bubbles
or flower petals tossed as you depart for the reception.
Reception
Before your cake is carved up and the tables are
littered with empty glasses and dirty plates we
will get plenty of shots of the details on which
you have worked so hard. We'll video your centerpieces,
wedding cake, groom's cake, gift table, etc.
As you arrive we'll tape your introductions, speeches,
prayer, toasts, etc. Your attention will be divided
chatting with guests so we try to be sure that we're
getting good shots of your guests having fun and
other things you may not see. As always, we aim
to be discrete so no one feels put on the spot or
inhibited by the presence of a camera.
Of course we will also get those shots of the bouquet
toss, cake-cutting, garter throw, and your departure
from the reception..
